My Little Pony : A New Generation

I was recruited by Boulder Media to work on the Motion Design for their Netflix film, My Little Pony: A New Generation. Alongside Production Designer Pablo A. Mayer and the directors for the film, I designed and animated the 2D visuals that would populate the many screens, displays and backgrounds in the film, along with some additional help on transition wipes and blocking out animation and pacing of certain elements throughout.

I also animated the end title sequence which was a particular joy to work on, using Pablo A. Mayer’s designs.

Canterlogic Factory

Various retro screen graphics were required for the Earth Pony’s factory and shows in Maritime Bay for “Canterlogic”. The tech is intended to be very dated by today’s standards, think 1980’s computer and mechanical inventions and contraptions. These screens appears throughout the film, but are mostly visible in the introduction to the Canterlogic factory early in the film.

Canterlogic Show

Canterlogic put on a show near the beginning of the film to show off their various Pegasus and Unicorn protection devices. I animated the the Canterlogic logo light show being projected onto the backdrop.

Izzy’s Song

This GFX is particular favourite of mine, Izzy is showing the other Ponies how to pretend to be a unicorn in her song. I created and animated the Neon, EQ bar, showbiz lights and rainbow glitter sheet backdrops for one of the sections.

Zephyr Heights

In the Pegasus’ city, Zephyr Heights, they love their tech, phones and social media. I created and animated the screens dotted around the city, including billboards and the ponies phones. Whenever you see a screen, I did it.
